I should have stopped at that point, it was quiet tasty, with a nice texture, and even my picky 4-year-old was eating it. But I let it cool, and then I added some lemon juice and parsley. At that point it tasted a lot like tabouli - which was not bad, but not really what the guys wanted to eat. So next time I make it, I'll know when to just step back and start eating.

Weekend side dish
After hearing (from my mom) about the nutritional benefits of quinoa, I decide to try it out. Other than being a bit messy - static electricity made these things bounce all over my kitchen - it was easy to make. I sauteed some onion and garlic in olive oil, then added and lightly toasted the quinoa. Then I added some vegetable broth and simmered until the quinoa was soft.
