Pancakes, wieners, and a monkey

This week it was just me and the boy - no daycare, and no husband (happily we did have the car). Pancakes are normally a meal solely for Rich and Peter; I generally hate the things. But since it was just the two of us, I sucked-it-up, made some, and ate some. If you ever run across this pancake mix in the grocery store scoop up a few boxes. You let the batter sit for a bit, and it rises in the mixing bowl (Bisquick does not do that). The pancakes were light and fluffy, and super tasty.

Here is just one example of why I laugh at the Danish language.

The wiener *grillen*, they also have *parkkering* spaces...things like that. And even though I NOW know why they add *en* or *er* to the end of the word, my brain still thinks its funny - I've driven by this stand every time we've bee to the zoo, and I still giggle. FYI - adding *en* to the end of the word is like adding the word *the* to the beginning of the word/phrase - in this case - The wiener grill.

And while blog hopping just this morning, I ran into this article. Read paragraph 4 for a good laugh - that reporter got lucky with that interviewee.
