FOOD
Food here at home has been a bit sparse. Since we were going away for the weekend, I didn't want buy much of anything at the store. Then once we got back from Hamburg, everything was closed until this morning. We scrounged, we survived. No biggie, but a bit boring.
FUN
In Hamburg I was able to do a little turista shopping. It was easier than in DK because: 1) the prices were in Euros and that's easier to compute than Kronner, and 2) there wasn't a 30% tax slapped onto everything. I picked up a nice woven bag (very popular at the fisherman's market), and a certain type of scarf that I had been coveting on other people all weekend.
NEEDLES
Since Pete wears slippers (not shoes) at bornhave, I thought I'd knit him up a pair. I finished the first one, he tried it on, and immediately fell on his bum. I won't be knitting up a second one, slippers aren't really supposed to be slippery.
Concurrent with the slipper episode I've been working on a stem and blossom scarf pattern. I started out with a nice bright mottled pink yarn, but had to quit after about 8 inches. The acrylic texture made my fingers slimy. I've since started over with a less dramatic colored yarn, but its 100% wool and it feels a lot better on my fingers.
DANISH
We had our weekly Danish lesson this morning. Even the teacher says - oh forget that word, you'll never say it right. The March 24th Not Quite Danish blog post shows a You Tube parody clip on the -shall-we-say- difficultness of the Danish language. Watch it at home, NOT at work, they swear just a bit. Like most jokes, its based on at least partial truths. Not Quite Danish
