So - I joined Netflix. This is a big step for me and my tight wallet. But I thought it was a good bargain for what you get, especially with the convenience of home delivery. We generally aren’t a movie watching family, but I’m sick sick sick of reality TV. (Normally I’d make an exception for Top Chef, but last night’s challenge and people were oh so blah! Why can’t Sam from season 2 just come on every show, every week, (tears) why?)
I’m starting out with Weeds Season 1. I don’t know why. I’m not a pot person, and I don’t really sympathize with any of the characters. But I heard it was a bit dark like Six Feet Under, so I decided to check it out. And three episodes into the thing I still can’t figure out what else Celia (the blond actress) has been in – she’s so familiar, its bugging the heck out me. Wait – I just had an epiphany – she’s the woman/girlfriend in BIG (Tom Hanks). Now I won’t have to think about it EVERY TIME her face pops up on the show.
They might have tried to fit a bit too much dialogue into a half hour show, but overall it is more entertaining than anything else I could be watching on cable.
