Sounds like "mellamskort"

How can I be tired after a long weekend? Maybe its because I HAVE to get up, because maybe the painters will show up bright and early at 8 am, like I thought they were going to last Monday. Well, if today IS the day, then they are 10+ minutes late, and as each minute passes by I'm thinking they aren't-a-coming...90% chance that they show up on the day I'm still in my pj's, or when we have a play date with Peter's best boy buddy.

So, "mellamskort"...

I was at our neighborhood grocery on late Friday afternoon I think, just picking up something for dinner. They were running a real good deal on 6 bottles of decent wine, and since we will be having two more sets of guests yet this spring/summer I thought it would be good to have some wine on hand.

But when the guy rung them up, I didn't get the discount - and it was like a $30 discount that I was expecting to get. So I left the line to go and get the sign, to show him what I was thinking. This grocery is a smaller unit of the Kvickly chain, and they have a member card (a.k.a. the illusive mellamskort), which you need to get the advertised discount.

Well, I don't have this card, but some people do, like the lady that was in back of me in line. She said I could use hers! I said - Oh, Thanks! And still she could not look me in the face and just say you're welcome. She wasn't mad or anything, I think she was just a bit embarrassed and didn't know how to respond to my thank you, so she just timidly looked at the floor instead.

For mother's day we explored a bit more of Funen (we would have done that anyway, but we'll call it a mother's day excursion to make it sound extra special). We hit a few dolmens, an old castle, and a holy spring that wasn't flowing quite enough to try a sip. Maybe when there's been a bit more rain to recharge that water table?

That woman is nice! I hardly found people like that here in Copenhagen. Perhaps provincial Danes are indeed more friendly than Copenhageners.

PS: It's medlemskort :)

Yep - nice lady. I would have kineared her for the world to see if I would have had my camera.

Gracias for the real name.
