Article titled - Suddenly, it may be cool to be an American again.

I have to say - the response to the election results from non-Americans here has been very positive. I picked my husband up from the airport this afternoon. While waiting for him I was involuntarily *eavesdropping* on others. The (almost) first words out of their mouths were a smile and "Barack Obama" - which is quite clear in any language.

Its a much different feeling from the one I had a few months back when the middle eastern guy at the Bazaar asked me - where are you from? I answered - the US. He says - Oh (with a mocking-turn-up-his-nose-sort-of-look) President Bush? And all I can say is a dull - yeah.

You know the ad - "Don't hate me because I am beautiful"
I wanted to say - "Don't hate me because I am American"
