Michele Bachmann says, "I wish the American media would take a great look at the views of the people in Congress and find out, are they pro-America or anti-America?" I guess its time for a witch hunt huh? A very sensible thing to devote resources to at time like this. Good idea Michelle. And who is going to interpret what statements characterize a person as anti-American? Would that be you?
It kind of reminds me of McCain's response in the last debate to who he would consider qualified for appointment to the supreme court. He said that he would not use a litmus test, he would look at each person's qualifications - very diplomatic and un-biased right?. But he then continued on to say that a person that was not opposed to Roe vs. Wade would not even have the qualifications (in his mind) to be a judge. OK, so you just proved - in you own words - that you would use a litmus test.

She's up for re-election District 6 people! This is an area that has been severely hit by the housing crash. Entire developed neighborhoods sit empty. It gets complex when you think about it...schools and stores were planned (and constructed) for these anticipated communities, wetlands were filled and relocated (and someone is supposed to pay for their successful development), roads and infrastructure were constructed (and need to be maintained). Its a problem for everyone, even those not directly tied to construction.
But on the other hand - Michelle won this area last time by being *for family values* and I can't see how the overall demographic would have changed that much.
So, I can only wonder what sort of decision District 6 voters will make come November? Will they realize that a change is needed, or will they shy away from this opportunity, mumbling the same old mantra.
Or maybe the new mantra is "I screwed up". I don't think McCain (or Palin) will be on Letterman again any time soon.
