We had another allergist appointment today at the University Hospital, and since this is our third visit I've figured out that you should factor in at least 20 minutes to find a parking spot.
I was nice and early. As I cruised the lot I followed a man and woman to their car. The guy even pointed to his car to show me where he was going. Then as I was waiting, another car pulled up facing me, and then took MY SPOT. The same happened with the next spot - which as three spots from the first. Even worse, the second person clearly saw that I had my first spot stolen from me. Both crooks pretended like me and my big ass car were invisible or something.
Ok - I'd had enough. So for the second lady I got out of my car, and I went up to her, and said, in English..."I really don't care if you can understand me or not, but I was in line for both of these spots and you saw me waiting."
Danish people HATE HATE HATE confrontation. And even though doing this would not give me a spot, I knew that it would make her extremely uncomfortable. This lady never even looked at me as I followed her to the parking ticket machine ranting about how pushy Danes are.
Passive aggressive is THE Danish way.
Then at the grocery store this evening, the woman behind me just could NOT wait to grab a grocery sack. She actually pushed me forward. So I pushed her back. She also would not look at me. Hey - if we're going to get physical, let's at least look at each other.
