Food Smasher 3008

Well, I finally bit the bullet and bought a kitchen appliance that will help me make hummus, refried beans, things like that. This is a big step for me because I don't like spending money on things that we can't keep. This gadget will have to stay here because it won't plug-in in the US.

So for dinner tonight we'll be having freshly mashed hummus (with roasted garlic, lemon, and tahini), and - big treat for Pete - corn on the cob! I finally found some for less than $1 per ear (I usually see them for around $2 per ear, and after living in the land of corn, this makes your heart skip).

And as always, spending time with Danish people last weekend has opened our eyes to a new product - ice trays in bag format. You never get ice here. Order a drink at a restaurant and they *might* throw in 3 cubes (maybe since people are paying $6 for that coca-cola they want all coke).

Well, Rich HAS to have ice. I've pretty much adjusted, but he hasn't. He has his own teeny tiny tray that he painstakingly refills everyday. See, its a teeny tiny tray, cause its a teeny tiny freezer, with just one teeny tiny slide out drawer. But now I know that these exist. The only thing I don't totally get is, these things are disposable. You'd think they'd want to go with something re-usable.
