Shopping Complete

I had the car yesterday and after visiting 4 stores, I had gotten most everything we needed. I had to stop at another grocery today to pick up a few things I didn’t find (to my satisfaction) yesterday – apples, red grapes, frozen corn (for a salad I’m making this weekend), and tortilla chips.

A new item I picked up is Danish summer cabbage. It’s pointier than round cabbage, and when I cut it up it was more delicate/thin. We used it in a noodle dish that I had Rich cook up last night. He does Chinese better than I.

The night before last I was still scrounging around to make dinner. I made pasta with veggies and canned cannellini beans. Rich said “that was a good dinner…always followed by… even though there wasn’t any meat”.

What I didn’t manage to buy yesterday was saline solution. First I tried Kvickly (it’s like Target); they said go to the pharmacy. I went to the pharmacy; they said go to the eye glasses store. I went to the eye glasses store; they had some.

You know how there is an entire row of saline solution at target? Well, the shop had 4 bottles, each costing 89 Kronner, or roughly $18. That’s why so many Danish people wear glasses. I knew I brought at least 6 bottles of this stuff over with us on the container. Rich said he looked in the closet, but he’s not a very good looker.

I’ve been so lucky lately - When I got back home I found 2 bottles in the closet. Now I know what our suitcase will be filled with after our next visit to the US – liquid gold.
