These were some of my favorite pottery bowls made by a guy named Art Thomas who lives in Nevada, Iowa. He was pretty old when I bought them years ago, who knows if he's still working, so I consider these to be irreplaceable. Total bummer.
And that 10L box of wine from France? Squished and empty. Luckily the wine was soaked up by the towels it was packed in, and the overall mess was contained by the plastic box.
Other important foods have made it through unbroken - my wine-in-a-juice-box-thing, jam from DK, and pate from France.
So, I have a pottery pitcher and casserole dish in another box somewhere, and since I'm home for today (a holiday here) I think I might go looking for them. I've decided that given the choice I'll take my disappointment all at the same time instead of spacing it out.
